Does Anyone Else's Car Do This?

Until I got my 240D, I thought whenever one opens their door, all the dome lights would illuminate. Watch what the 240D does. I start with my GTI which functions like every other car I've owned. What other cars do this? Does MB still do this?

It blew my mind when I first got the car.

yup my 300td does that.but i turned them off because i was paranoid about them staying on somehow and draining the battery. Haha

Now, I dunno. But my '83 240D did that; ditto for my '91 300D.

Most of them you can set up to do that or not do that with the press of a button.
